Summer Excursion Day 5: Heading HOME!

Our trip home took an incredible amount of time... you would have thought we were driving from Winnipeg to Saint John! After making it about half way on Thursday (and stopping for shopping/eating/diapers/feedings) we were forced to stop for the night because of bad weather.

On Friday we felt defeated that we took an extra day so we took our sweet time, shopping, eating, relaxing, and then sitting in an incredibly long (longest we've ever seen, and we lived in the US and spent 5 years traveling back and forth!) border lineup!

Like father like daughter... Mommy looked back and both were sleeping, and constantly in the same position... here their heads are both leaning forward and to their right

now back and tilted to the right

Ali, playing in the back with her 22 cent box of crayons

and then hiding from us!

Now we are home! It was so nice to have a few days as a family exploring a different city and just doing whatever we wanted!!

Summer Excursion Day 4: Fenway Park and 5Wits Tomb

On Thursday we got up, checked out of the hotel, and did stuff for Mommy and Daddy -- we started with Daddy and went to Fenway Park for a tour.

Ali's favorite part was the telephone in the press booth

After Fenway we headed to do Mom's thing, 5Wits Boston and their Tomb expedition... really really cool. Then we trekked through the rain to get lunch and some Coldstone, finally deciding that our time in Boston had come to an end and we should head home.

Summer Excursion Day 3: Boston Harbor Cruise

After the Aquarium we thought we would check out the harbor cruise...
getting on our boat
Evie, SO happy to be out of the car seat and out of the snuggly... lounging around on the table

The tour was cool, but it was the end of a long day so we were ready to be done! Afterwards we found our way back to the hotel and got some food on the way home... we were all ready to lie in bed, eat dinner, and just veg!

An awesome day!

Summer Excursion Day 3: New England Aquarium

After the Museum we headed out to find parking, lunch, and eventually the Aquarium! Ali's love for fish made this mommy's most anticipated part of the trip and it did not disappoint!

Penguins!

Another kind of penguin

And another!
That fish did not look too impressed with Ali!

Ali was super excited to see a "tutle"

Ali, checking out the octopus
And then we saw some divers cleaning the huge tank...
We all had a great time looking at the 'fiss' at the Aquarium!

Summer Excursion Day 3: Museum of Science

After the duck tours we decided that since we were at the museum of science anyways, and it looked cool, we should check it out for an hour or so.
We started in the Discovery Center, which is designed for young kids... Ali had TONS of fun!

She was making the fish swim in the water.
Then we headed to the 'Baseball as America' exhibit, which Daddy loved, but we were unable to take a camera there.
Finally, we ended with checking out these Star Wars models.
Definitely a cool museum (even though their parking is rediculously over priced!!!!) - next time we'll plan to spend a day there!

Summer Excursion Day 3: Boston Duck Tour

On Wednesday morning we got up and headed to the Museum of Science to catch the Duck Tour...

While waiting for the tour to begin, we were parked beside a big dinosaur, which Ali fell in love with!
Our bus and tour guide
Ali fell asleep on daddy's lap pretty soon after we departed
And then Evie followed suit
We saw loads of historic sites, as well as this -- the 'police headquarters' from the movie The Departed...
And then we went into the water

pretty cool!
And Ali quickly woke up for this part of the tour, and she loved being in a 'boat'!

Look, water!
But Evie wasn't quite as excited, and remained asleep.
It was a great way to see the city!

Summer Excursion Day 2: Dinner and getting settled

After the zoo we did a lot of driving around in search of our hotel, got settled in, and headed out to find some dinner. We ate at Uno's and fell in love with the food!! MMmmm....

Evelyn was SO happy to be out of the car seat and out of the snuggly, just lying on our bed, looking around, kicking her legs, and laughing.

Our temporary home.

We were pretty excited for dinner...Ali, giving Evie some lovin' while waiting for our meals to arrive.

Day 2 was SO much better than day 1 :)
